STATE-WIDE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCES

Midwest HALO Encuentro

October 9, 2012

The Encuentro has the goal of providing an environment to learn about the unexpected challenges we may encounter during our collegiate years and how others before us have overcome those barriers in order to attain their educational goals. This conference will allow students to meet and interact with students from other schools.  A wide range of ideas will provide us with opportunities to learn from other individuals and to implement these ideas in our own schools.  Juntos somos una familia and we should be working together to help improve ourselves, our organizations, our campuses, and our communities by taking pride in our cultura and promoting it fully.

Black Student Union Conference

April 12, 2013

Anyone looking at the state of Black America knows that we must choose a path of greater accountability, sustainability, health, and achievement if we are to be a meaningful part of the future.  Our young student leaders have a critical part to play in moving us forward.  Therefore, we have come together to offer this program which can bring all of us together to define the way forward.

The event is designed to accomplish four goals: (1) deepen the awareness and knowledge of our student leaders about the challenges facing our communities; (2) motivate them to take on a more active role in addressing these challenges, (3) enhance leadership skills; and (4) form the Kansas Association of Black Student Unions and Alliances.
